FAQ's on Quaker's Voice Skill

Q: Why did Quaker build the Quaker voice apps?

A: Voice technology (also known as conversational AI) is a new means for Quaker to interact with and delight consumers.  It provides a fast, easy, convenient, hands-free way to interact with Quaker and its products.

Q: What kind of questions does the Quaker voice app answer today?

A: Recipes, nutritional information and instructions on how to make oats.

Q: How do I try the Quaker voice apps?

A: If you have an Amazon Echo device, you can either just say “Alexa, enable Quaker” or you can enable the app from Amazon.com or from the Alexa smartphone app.  (Enabling an app is similar to installing an app on a smartphone, but the app never actually is loaded onto a device)  After the app is enabled you can say “Alexa, ask Quaker...” or “Alexa, open Quaker” or “Alexa, launch Quaker” and you will be offered different ways to interact with the Quaker app.

Q: Why is an email coming to the contact center from a consumer talking to the Google Assistant?

A:  The Google voice app (also known as an action) is only set up to answer a limited number of questions, mostly around recipes and nutrition.  We wanted to broaden the way that the app could help our consumers, so we created a way for the app to send an email to the contact center if the app itself could not answer a question
